Verdict per use case
- Driveway — exposed aggregate. Better under vehicle loads, longer reseal intervals, hides tyre marks.
- Pool surround — liquid limestone. Cooler underfoot in Perth summer, coastal aesthetic, chlorine-tolerant with proper sealer.
- Covered alfresco (family use) — liquid limestone if you go barefoot; exposed aggregate if it's an outdoor kitchen with furniture.
- Path or entryway — either works. Exposed aggregate for durability, liquid limestone if it complements the house cladding.
- Coastal property — liquid limestone visually, but expect shorter reseal cycles. Exposed aggregate is more forgiving of neglect.
- Reactive clay ground — exposed aggregate on the base slab is more forgiving of hairline movement than a liquid limestone topping which can telegraph cracks through.
